Abstract
We considered the spore component of palynological characteristics for the Early Medieval deposits on the example of the model area (the Slovechno-Ovruch Ridge) and the time range (13th century A.D.). The list of the vascular cryptogamic plants (10 species) has been identified. For the first time, schemes of distribution of 5 taxa (Diphasiastrum complanatum, Lycopodium annotinum, Lycopodiella inundata, Huperzia selago, Botrychium lunaria) in the Slovechno-Ovruch (Slovechansko-Ovruchsky) Ridge area in the 13th century were developed. These species are listed in the Red Data Book of Ukraine. The results of our paleochorological analysis showed that the decrease of habitats and ranges of Diphasiastrum complanatum and Huperzia selago was caused by human activity. We can also assume that extinction of Botrychium lunaria from the regional flora occurred as a result of human activity in the late Holocene (SA–3).
