A development strategy for geobotany in Ukraine

Abstract

The state of geobotany development in Ukraine is analyzed, needs for closer international cooperation are emphasized. The following current issues and trends are highlighted: defining unified concepts; using new approaches and methods; database formation; development of vegetation classification; assessment of coenotic diversity; geobotanical mapping and zoning; research of organization, structure, functioning, dynamics and evolution of phytocoenoses; development of conservation and use issues, etc.
